Festive Strolls in West Harlem for the Holidays!

The Harlem Cultural Tourism Collaborative, a Harlem One Stop initiative, will launch Harlem Holidays -- two events highlighting West Harlem's arts & culture and restaurants. Harlem Holidays in West Harlem is funded by West Harlem Development Corporation through a grant to West Harlem Community Preservation Organization.Holidays in Harlem is first in a series of events which will celebrate the cultural diversity and historical significance of wonderful West Harlem. We invite residents and visitors alike to join in support of community and to share your stories and learn about the neighborhood while supporting the arts & artisan community and local restaurants!

HOLIDAYS IN HARLEM: FESTIVE HOLIDAY WALKING TOURS THROUGH HARLEM HEIGHTS
Did you know that Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade originated in West Harlem and that Clement Clarke Moore (‘A Visit from St. Nicholas’) still resides in Harlem? Learn fascinating facts about West Harlem’s local arts & culture, historic sites & architecture, and visit some of West Harlem’s hottest food and drink venues as we kick-off the Harlem holiday season

Begin at Convent Avenue Baptist Church @ 145th and Convent Avenue
Trace the initial route of the 1924 Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade with John Reddick, Harlem historian, while enjoying the neighborhood's offerings of music - jazz and gospel, architecture, and interesting stories and surprises along the way. (90 minutes approximately)
