Posted June 30, 2014
Tatiana Pagés, a Chilean-Dominican New York-based art collector and activist designer is proud to announce the grand opening of a contemporary art and design gallery, Tatiana Pagés Gallery. The opening collective, “Thoughts & Senses,” is a collection of art dedicated to the exploration of the social as well as cultural tensions by six highly conceptual Latin American artists. The gallery is located at 2605 Frederick Douglas Boulevard at 139th Street. The grand opening will be celebrated on Monday, June 30th from 6-9pm.
“Being a resident of Harlem in the historic ‘Striver’s Row’ district for six years has exposed me to the unbelievable culture and community spirit of the area,” stated Pagés. “I am thrilled to bring more art and design into the neighborhood with the Tatiana Pagés Gallery. I hope this gallery can be a trailblazer, having a lasting effect in New York City and the Harlem community by helping to bring more artists and creative entities to the area.”
Thoughts & Senses is a collection of thousands of thoughts, breathing through the pores of objects and fabric, glass and canvas, acrylic and porcelain, all united by the idea of using aesthetics and form to imprint an emotional mark, making the viewer part of the dialogue and part of the change. The work of several highly-regarded artists from Latin America will be on display, including Isabel Cisneros (Venezuela), Adriana Marmorek (Colombia), Natalia Pages, Jorge Pineda, Belkis Ramirez and Fernando Tamburini (Dominican Republic).
