Nat Adderley Jr. is an accomplished pianist, composer, arranger, producer, and musical director whose career spans jazz, R&B, and contemporary popular music. Born into the legendary Adderley musical family as the son of Nat Adderley and nephew of Cannonball Adderley, he developed as a musician from an early age and later studied at Yale University.

Adderley is widely recognized for his long-standing collaboration with Luther Vandross, serving as musical director, arranger, and co-songwriter on many of Vandross’s most celebrated recordings and performances, including contributions to songs and albums that helped define contemporary R&B. 

Alongside his work in popular music, Adderley has maintained strong roots in jazz as a bandleader and performer, creating original works and honoring the legacy of the Adderley family while continuing to appear in concert and cultural programming internationally.
