The West Side Arts Coalition (WSAC) was founded in 1979 by a group of visual and performing artists on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Members now hail from many locations in the US and abroad.
The Coalition exists to help bring artists of all disciplines together with the community through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and social gatherings.
The WSAC is located at the Broadway Mall Community Center, a renovated Beaux-Arts building, at Broadway and 96th Street, in New York City. Visual Arts group exhibits (Fine Arts, Photography, and Craft Arts) are held every three weeks from September through June. Other exhibitions and performances sponsored by the WSAC are held at outside venues including the Cork Gallery at Lincoln Center, the Manhattan Borough President's Office, outdoor street fairs, and occasional international venues.
