Founded in 2012, the Social Justice Collaboration Quilts Project grew out of the Angola Prison hospice program, where the incarcerated serving life sentences began making quilts to fund end-of-life care. The project supports incarcerated artists, raises awareness of the Angola Hospice Program, and uses collaborative quilt-making to connect imprisoned and free quilters and amplify incarcerated voices. More information can be found here. Additionally, the “Eyes of Gaza” art exhibition by the Lucie Foundation will be on display from January 22 through February 13 in St. James Chapel.
