Harlem River Community Rowing

Washington Heights / Inwood

explore visiting

Harlem River Community Rowing (HRCR) was founded in 2006 by a group of rowers who were
looking to create affordable rowing opportunities in New York City. Rowing is not only a great
sport, but also a powerful force to build communities, bring social change, and strengthen the
connection New Yorkers have to their parks and rivers. Rowing brings new opportunities for

recreation and community economic development.

HRCR’s goal is to offer affordable instruction in the sport of rowing, and to provide structured
on-water programming on New York’s beautiful Harlem River, increasing waterfront access for
all New Yorkers. With programming for beginner and experienced rowers, we offer something
for everyone.

HRCR is based in Muscota Marsh, a New York City Park, and we cooperate with New York
City Parks to provide programming.
