“Community Food & Juice is the most welcoming restaurant to appear on the UWS in years”
—Julia Moskin, Dining Briefs, The New York Times, 1-30-08
Community Food & Juice opened in November, 2007 and specializes in eclectic-American cuisine made with organic, sustainable ingredients whenever possible. We serve dishes inspired by the seasons, with light Eastern influences. While we are not a vegetarian restaurant, many items on our menu are — or can be — made vegetarian by request.
Our wine and beer list is small yet carefully chosen. We feature many selections that are produced by organic or sustainable agricultural methods, and our cocktail list also comprises select organic spirits.
First and foremost a neighborhood restaurant, Community has a small bar for drinking and eating, as well as classic table seating mixed with larger communal tables. We also have a semi-private dining space which can be reserved for parties of fourteen or less. Perhaps best of all, we have outdoor patio seating, typically open from March to November, when the weather allows.
Come in and see why the 2009 Michelin Guide of New York City says "A culinary turning point has come to Morningside Heights with the fantastically popular Community Food & Juice leading the pack. Healthy comfort food, sustainably sourced, complements the warm yet industrial, eco-friendly space."
