" Rising Still: A Creative Journey Through Resilient Skies " - An Encore Marathon Poetry Reading and Celebration of the Inspired Poetry of Dr. Maya Angelou

On Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, an encore presentation of a three hour, non-stop, marathon reading, a “Mayathon”, of the prolific prose and poetry of the late, great author, poet, playwright, essayist and cultural treasure, Dr. Maya Angelou will be presented by professional artists working in the disciplines of theater, visual art, literature, music, dance and journalism as part of an event celebrating the resilience, accomplishments and contributions of Artists of Color.
The program entitled, “Rising Still: A Creative Journey through Resilient Skies,” will be held in the Riverbank State Park @ 145th Street, Outdoor Cultural Stage.
