Williamsburg Restaurateurs Open New Indian Restaurant in Hamilton Heights/Sugar Hill

Restaurateurs from Williamsburg and owners of Tikka Indian Grill open a new Indian restaurant on Amsterdam Avenue between 147 & 148 Streets in Hamilton Heights, West Harlem. Mumbai Masala Indian Grill is Halal Certified and offers dishes representative of the many regions of India which include vegetarian as well as vegan dishes.

The interior of Mumbai Masala is simple, but its decor is tastefully done and is warm and welcoming.  The outdoor signage is still to come so one could easily walk by and miss the opportunity to have one of the most delectable Indian meal I have had in quite some time.  

The staff is pleasant and attentive.  The manager/owner explained every dish is prepared fresh, so the wait is a tad bit longer than usual, but it was well worth it! The Dal Makhni and Chicken Tikka Masala dishes were flavorful--spices full-bodied but balanced. Very satisfying!

Catering and takeout ($20 minimum delivery) are available.  A sidewalk cafe and liquor license are forthcoming. BYOB allowed until then.

Overall it was a delicious dining experience. We can't wait to return.
