Celebrate the fall season and explore Haitian artistic traditions at a Fanal Lantern Workshop led by Harlem-based artist Fitgi Saint-Louis. Known for creating the Fanal Fè Limyè and Aunties sculptures, Saint-Louis introduces participants to the history and cultural significance of the fanal, a traditional Haitian handcrafted lantern. During this creative, hands-on workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to design and make their own colorful paper lanterns while learning about Haitian craftsmanship and cultural heritage. All are welcome to participate in this community art experience in Harlem.
