The Kota Alliance is proud to present SECOND LIFE, our first-ever solo exhibition, featuring Harlem-based artist and author Wilhelmina "Obatola" Grant-Cooper.

Grant-Cooper transforms discarded and found objects into powerful mixed-media assemblages. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, Wilhelmina sees giving abandoned materials a second life as a reflection of the journey of healing and reinvention.

Launching on the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month as part of our Fall programming, her work as a breast cancer survior reflects a deeply personal journey of healing, survival, and the discovery that endings can become new beginnings.
