East Harlem Preservation was founded in 2005 to promote, protect, and preserve the neighborhood's uniquely diverse cultural, historical, and architectural heritage. We also seek to provide information and updates on issues of public concern to residents and business owners in East Harlem/El Barrio and surrounding areas through informational email bulletins and website posts, all of which are conducted on a voluntary basis. As we grow, we also plan to sponsor cultural projects promoting East Harlem history, and public forums on issues of local interest
Image: The Mosaic was unveiled on October 27, 2006. The mosaic was executed by gifted artist Manny Vega who is a resident of the community.
