Malcolm X Blvd. is intersected by St. Nicholas Avenue, a street that has been traveling diagonally southeast since it crossed W. 124th Street. This merging of streets finds a graceful termination in a newly refurbished public plaza. This former traffic island was converted into a memorial to the late civil rights leader.
