The Bard Microcolleges in Harlem and Brooklyn are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2025 semester.

Bard Microcolleges are tuition-free Associate in Arts degree programs offered by Bard College in partnership with community organizations.

Students pay nothing for tuition, books, or supplies.  Students attend in person, full-time, in Brooklyn (at the Central Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, Grand Army Plaza) or Harlem (at the Maysles Documentary Center, 343 Malcolm X Blvd).  Students work towards Bard College AA degrees in Liberal Studies.Age, citizenship, and loan-default status don't matter.
All you need to apply is a high-school degree or equivalency--and to not have a bachelor's degree already.

Apply in person by attending a Writing Session in either Brooklyn or Harlem.  Writing Sessions are scheduled between March 1 and April 15, 2025 for Fall 2025 enrollment.
