Tsion (pronounced “see on”) Cafe and Bakery is a cosmopolitan, hip café in historical Sugar Hill Harlem. A place for healthy foods, fresh baked bread, fresh juices, and a community space where local and upcoming artists can perform -- a place to just relax with a nice brew or fair trade coffee with a friend.
The owners’ Ethiopian and North African roots as well as tastings from the Caribbean will influence the menu. This fusion will be the basis for healthy dishes, with ingredients that are sourced from local farmers, using organic or naturally grown crops as well as herbs and spices grown on-site. Another way that Tsion Cafe and Bakery looks to support its community is by sourcing locally sourced fruits and vegetables as well as for goat cheese and eggs. The menu will range from light finger foods to full brunch/dinner plates.
While the above will stimulate the palate, Tsion Cafe and Bakery will also work with local artists to stimulate the other senses. Musicians, art exhibits, film screenings, poets and writers series. Other special events will be held on RSVP basis.
Essentially, we are marrying healthy, great-tasting food with culture and art. “Healthy food for the body and artistic nourishment for the soul.”
