Our mission is to sustain the economic revitalization of all communities in Upper Manhattan through job creation, corporate alliances, strategic investments and small business assistance.

Letter From President and CEO

Over the past two years, the Empowerment Zone team has been working hard on our primary mandate of creating the necessary stimulus for investment and job creation. I am very proud of the role we have played so far, but I know there is still much work to do.

At the helm of the Empowerment Zone is a leadership team charged with developing an equitable strategy to move the communities of Upper Manhattan forward. Each member brings a wealth of experience, fresh ideas and a unique perspective on how to best accomplish our mission. They have my full confidence and I am certain each of them shares my vision of how the Empowerment Zone can serve the residents of Upper Manhattan.

I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to lead the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone at such an exciting time. Never before has there been more economic development activity in Upper Manhattan. We will continue to work in partnership with community organizations, local businesses, government agencies and other individuals that share our goals. I am certain that by working together, we will leave a lasting legacy that will endure for generations to come.
