REEL SISTERS of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series
Other
REEL SISTERS of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series mission is to cultivate and spotlight the unique talent and struggle of women of color in the film industry. Our goal is to empower women filmmakers of African-American, Caribbean, Latina, Aisian and African descent. REEL SISTERS provides access to leading professionals through the presentation of panels and workshops on various topics from screenwriting to producing.
REEL SISTERS Film Festival is one of the few film festivals dedicated to showcasing women’s experiences from a global perspective. Our festival celebrates the art of storytelling by women of color filmmakers in the areas of documentary, narrative, experimental and animation. Each film genre offers a glimpse into, the often missing, historical and psychological elements of womanhood, religion, government and societal development from a female perspective.
