Containing one of the highest points in Manhattan, Fort Tryon Park towers above the Hudson River, offering magnificent views of the Palisades and the lower Hudson Valley that challenge the notion that Manhattan’s best vistas are experienced from its skyscrapers. Fort Tyron Park is home to the Cloisters, the three-acre Heather Garden, Margaret Corbin Circle, playgrounds, and New Leaf Cafe restaurant.
Fort Tryon Park has been a place to find beauty and gain mental and physical wellness for 85 years! On your next visit to the park, enjoy the coppers, golds, ambers, and crimsons that can be seen throughout the 67 acres of this Scenic Landmark. Appreciate the feeling of comfort and restorative powers that can be derived from the many varieties of plants in the historic Heather Garden; as well as from the park's trees, some of which predate the dedication of Fort Tryon Park as a New York City public park on Oct. 12, 1935.
Fort Tryon Park is often listed as one of the best places to visit in all seasons! Time Out NY gives the park their #1 spot for "Best Fall Foliage in New York" HERE.
