In this special co-presentation with Carnegie Hall Citywide, jazz luminaries Miguel Zenón and Luis Perdomo present sublime interpretations of the Latin American Songbook and of the Bolero in particular as a genre. Drawing from their celebrated albums, El Arte Del Bolero, Vol 1 and El Arte Del Bolero, Vol 2 (the latter earning the pair a GRAMMY in 2024), they honor the vastness and diversity of the Latin American Songbook, highlighting songs they believe deserve to be explored and recognized. The evening concludes with a Harlem Stage commissioned work, Cuban Requiem, by Latin Grammy nominated trumpeter and composer Kalí Rodríguez-Peña, performed by The New Cuban Masters, his newest project composed by some of the new stars of New York’s Cuban music scene.
