Park Terrace Bistro & Wine Bar

A slice of Morocco in Washington Heights, this sweet bistro sits just a couple of blocks east of Inwood Hill Park. Inside they've captured the essence of the Casbah with red and terracotta washed walls, paintings depleting life in Morocco, and an assortment of colorful glass lamps. France meets NorthAfrica on the menu here: frisee salad with duck leg confit shares space with shrimp cigars (spiced shrimp rolled in layers of phyllo), and traditional tagines (some served with mashed potatoes instead of couscous) vie with steak au polvre for your attention. The Casablanca-born owner, Karim Bouskou and his, Natalie Weiss, promote a convivial atmosphere, aided by the delightful waitstaff. (Source: Michelin Guide, 2006)
